Material: wooden frame made with two pieces of cloth and snaps. You can order the snap frame from a Montessori supplier OR you can use an old jacket that snaps easily and keep it in a basket for the child to practice with.
Practice yourself several times before showing (giving a lesson) to child.
Presentation:
Sit on right hand side of child with snap frame (or jacket) in front
of you.
Push down bottom snap with the left-hand pointer.

Hold top snap with right-hand pointer and thumb.

Line up bottom snap & top snap with right-hand pointer & thump.
Continue pushing down bottom snap with left-hand pointer. (I couldn't
so I could take the pictures!)
Remove left-hand pointer and push snaps together with right-hand pointer
& thump.
For really hard snaps, the child can use both her pointer fingers to push down.
Aim: to give child the independence to snap her own clothes.
Age: 3-4 (or older if needed)
